Wax & Wonder
10am - 2pm. Second Saturdays.
A beginners workshop with an introduction to encaustic painting and the wonder of wax.
Students will watch a demonstration and then dive into the art of painting and experimenting with pigmented melted wax! Students will experiment with fusing painted layers, mark-making, texture, and simple collage techniques. You will make and take a painting made by your very own self.
No art experience is necessary. This is a casual, fun, creative, open studio setting with guided assistance. Jenn is a working artist who has completed Advanced Teacher Training with R&F Paints.
We will be using butane torches and irons to fuse the layers of wax. Therefore, the class is limited to people aged 18+ years old and four persons. The studio is located in Oakland, CA.
$200 class fee (supplies included)
